We are proud that Alila Villas Koh Russey has embraced environmentally sustainable design (ESD) principles and is the first resort in Cambodia to receive the highest level of certification from EarthCheck as a Best Practice Building Planning and
Design (BPDS) development.
The siting of the resort buildings mitigates negative impacts on the island’s ecology by adopting low densities on site and resource conservation materials in its construction, and helps in the creation of positive environmental improvements, particularly biodiversity.
The protection of Koh Russey’s natural attributes, character and open space plays an important role in the very essence of the resort. To this end, Alila Villas Koh Russey has devoted over 70% of the land area to landscaping, implemented soil erosion prevention methods and used energy-sensitive site planning in its design and construction.
